The Black State?

Generally, Victoria is a beautiful green State with acres of lush rolling vegetation and crops.

Today, Victoria is a brown and tan state with the continuing, and tightening drought.

I think that by the end of January, we may be a black State the way the bushfires are raging.

Many are suspicious of how these fires started in the first place.

The restictions placed on firefighters must be frustrating to them as they battle to save life, houses and property.

There is no doubt dams will be affected following these terrible fires - as will the water.

Today it is very hot and everyone is heading for the air conditioners; it's the ony sensible thing to do. A light breeze in the air does nothing to quell the heat and more to cause viscious dust storms.

And the worst is to come .....

As you asked, we have been praying Sim,I think the fires have joined up now. It is terrible but we think some are deliberately lit. Are you safe from fire harm love?

Sim, I am praying for you, too.

Here in the US some of the enviro wack-os limited firefighters use of some streams awhile back because they were concerned some fish might be harmed. It is thought one firefighter may have lost his life because water from a certain area was not allowed to be used. I hope the Aussies have mores sense.

I am fine here! I think a bushfire would be too scared to come near the place!

Tep, Aussie have some whacky people too Bob's. They protect this and that and forget the damage it causes.

I love the environment but comes a time when we have to be sensible.
Sounds like a Green Algae death there Bob's. Very, sad and very sick that weirdo's could do it just for the sake of some fish!
I don't think we've got to that level yet. If there's a bushfire in eucalypts and endangering lives and etc; it means one thing. Danger, get rid of it.

hmnnnn ..... I do believe you may be right regarding bushfire near your town. Still there is alot of bushland surrounding it. Is the town well prepared for bushfire Sim?

Oh yes! We have a fantastic Fire Brigade Patricia! And yiu are right, there are patches, but there would be able to be brought under control very quickly.

Also, they run to a great system of burning off PRIOR to hot weather to come. Averyone has to have plough breaks around farmlands beside roads too, so no probs there. This is where lots of the dust comes from too.

If the bush was prepared for fire before the event it would be a great help, but they don't do a thing! I hope this one is soon over. A water carrier has been grounded and Tullamarine smoke alarms went off, internash couldn't land. Funny really!

Yes! I heard about the helicopter, and the Tulla smoke alarms Val. It would be a bit scary I think.

Shay, I never thought of that for a second. The damns are tainted now anyway. They are too low.

Hey! Ease back the throtttle a bit Mike. As far as I know there are Asian firefighters in the Metropolis. I think you're being a bit tough there. Don't know about the mozzies doing any firefighting.
I do agree about having the Greenies help clean up the mess a but go easy. Maybe there are greenie firefighters, how would we know?
I thought they did do routine burnoff and plough control in those areas?

Mike. I might have to bin this comment but shut,up.

At 10 a.m. my barometer in the carport shower 42c. In the kitchen the barometer now shows 41c.

And the darn airconditioner in the living area had to be cleaned out of dust collected from that duststorm before it would even work!!
The temp in the living area now is 39c.

In other words, I have other things to think of at present apart from finding photo's of Asian Australian Firefighters on the web and more to do than ask my firefighter friends.

And quit that language in my blog.
