Funny World
Sometimes, I do have to laugh.
After chatting to ecologist friends, I came home to find my Computer Tekky had been tinkering with my Comp again. His view was that I needed a new screensaver.
OK, now I've got the most beautiful screensaver one could wish for .... but my cursor is now a sea shell which turns into a boat's steering wheel, and everytime I clik onto something funny sea noises emanate from the computer.
Boats honk, walrus's "arf", water drips and on it goes. Nevertheless, I still waltz 'Matilda' all over the world inbetween fits of the giggles.
It's getting drier around here!! Whoa! Never ever seen it this dry before. Not even in the 1982 drought.
But, the car had to be washed and cleaned out today.
An old aboriginal legend stated Australia would have a big dry for 200 years. The dry was expected to be an enormous one and they decreased population due to the coming big dry they expected.
When the Elders of the tribe told me this waaaay back in the 70's, it was unimagineable. Now, it all seems to make sense. With their knowledge of the Australian ecology I should have taken more notice. Problem is, our Government wouldn't have.

Oh I am so pleased, it's a joy to see this entry. Here's another who didn't know about the aboriginal legend. Then again, their stories of creation are so close to the Bible it makes one wonder.

Hi Pat! Hi Val!
So what do you think about the old legend? I think I have another written in the diary of an early settler too but am having a bit of trouble finding it.

Hello you two!
pffft, ratbags is the word Andrew.
I hope they aren't correct on this one either. There have been some weird prophecies about Australia by white man, but I would prefer to believe the Aboriginals as they belonged to the land, lived with it, ate from it and, well .... they were the last of the Stone Age peoples on the earth.
We'd better wait it out metinks!
They lived with many a long drought so a really big prolonged one wouldn't surprise me.
Best to wait and see!
